Coach Filippos
Coach Filippos recently moved to Omaha for a job at Merck, and fortunately found his way to us while looking to stay involved in youth soccer!
How did you get into soccer?
I started playing soccer when I was about 4 or 5 years old during the heyday of Greek athletics, and specifically, Greek soccer. Whether it was watching Greece miraculously win Euro 2004 or the Derby of the Eternal Enemies dividing the house, I immediately fell in love with soccer.
What do you like about the Wolves?
I love and appreciate the enthusiasm and willingness to learn from each player.
Who is your favorite soccer player of all-time?
Ronaldinho. There is not a more iconic smile in soccer than Ronaldinho’s.
What is your favorite thing about soccer?
I enjoy competition and watching how each player adapts to the new challenges a game may present.
How many consecutive juggles can you do?
Ha! If I had only one attempt… maybe 3. After a couple of “failed attempts” I can probably rattle off 20.
What is your favorite part of working with kids?
Beyond the energy they bring, I love to challenge kids and watch them progress and develop. In soccer, the “Aha” moment may look a little different, but the feeling is as sweet.
